Victor Davila is the HSI-Title V Director at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas.
He also serves on the board of the Robstown Housing Authority and is a member of the sixth cohort of HACU’s La Academia de Liderazgo/Leadership Academy.
Victor has spent the past 20 years working at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) across Texas. Throughout his career in higher education, he’s held leadership roles as an Executive Director, Director, and Coordinator. He has successfully written and managed more than $22 million in grant funding from federal, state, and foundation sources. His work has focused on a wide range of student success initiatives, including advising, career readiness, coaching, financial literacy, faculty development, learning centers, outreach, and tutoring. He has led or co-authored numerous grants, including HSI-Title V Part A and B, PPOHA, and STEM proposals.
Victor was a co-founding member of the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institution Educators (AHSIE), where he served as the founding
Vice President and later as Vice President of Finance. He continues to support the HSI community by volunteering his time to lead
webinars and conference sessions on grant management, budgeting, leadership, and student success strategies.
His commitment to first-generation students also extends to scholarship.
He co-authored a chapter in Hispanic Serving Institutions in Practice: Defining “Servingness” at HSIs, edited by Dr. Gina Garcia.
Victor is a first-generation college graduate from Robstown High School 1988, Texas.
He earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University–Kingsville and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&I University.
