Laura Landeros Young

  

Laura Landeros Young is a 1983 graduate of Robstown High School. After graduation, Laura went on to attend Massey Business College and Del Mar College. Laura serves as the Executive Director for the Robstown Housing Authority (RHA) with over 40 years of experience.   Laura first came to RHA in 1985 where she landed an opportunity as the agencies clerk typist. In 1986, Laura was promoted to Assistant Section 8 Manager which led to her permanently filling the position in 1988. During the course of her employ, Laura served as the Public Housing Manager, the Administrative Assistant and eventually being promoted to that of the Executive Director in 1994. Laura is crossed trained in the various positions within the organization. Keeping up with HUD mandates, policy and procedure is key in overseeing a successful organization. Laura is always seeking new ideas so as to improve the agency. She enjoys interacting with the residents and anyone who walks through the door. Everyone has a story to tell. With a passion for helping the community, Laura has sat on a variety of boards including the Library, Planning and Zoning, Trial Lawyers and the Homeless Initiatives Board. Currently Laura sits on the Wesley Community Center and the City of Robstown’s Cotton Community Partnership board. 

In her spare time, Laura enjoys working on her 12-acre ranch, spending time with her husband of 41 years, her family and her granddaughter. She enjoys watching Lifetime Movies and Home and Garden programs.
